Central Loudoun Youth Football League puts the safety of our youth athletes at the center of every decision we make. We take pride in providing our participants an environment in which they can develop skills that will enhance their performance as well as keep them safe. The reality is football and cheerleading are sports that involve contact, agility and flexibility, but we are prepared if injuries occur.
Central Loudoun Youth Football League's equipment is reviewed at the end of every season. Our helmets are sent to the manufacturer for inspection and reconditioning to ensure they remain in good playing condition. Helmets have an age limit and are phased out of use when approaching their expiration date. New, top quality, helmets are purchased yearly to properly equip our players. Other football equipment is sanitized and inspected seasonally.
Our coaches are certified through USA Football which focuses on player safety using Heads Up Football techniques for health and safety. This includes specific instruction on concussion awareness, injury prevention, and proper hydration techniques. All coaches will be monitored throughout the season to ensure practices and game plays are designed using the USA Football model.
We partner with local athletic trainers for our home games. Athletic trainers provide care to injured athletes and safety/injury feedback to the league. An injury report is available to our community at the end of every season.
